Mock Neck Sweater + A Protein Smoothie Recipe

We shot this look on a whim, as we were on our way to the Love and Respect Live Marriage conference. Anyone ever attended a conference with Doctor Emerson? It was amazing! I highly recommend it for everyone and anyone, no matter your marital status – married, divorced, single, engaged. I have not had the chance to read the book but after the conference, it is definitely next on my list. I would love to hear your thoughts on the book or the conference if you had the chance to do either!

Anyways, I got this mock neck tunic sweater in black and red last year. It is still in stock with lots of other color options this season. It is softly textured so it’s not itchy, still breathable but keeps you warm and toasty. It is long in the front and back so you can pair it with leggings, for a casual home-for-the-holidays look. The sweater does run large so while I am usually a small or x-small in tops, I got this one in xx-small and you can see, it is still roomy! Like I said, I bought it last season so it’s been in the wash several times and I haven’t seen pilling.

By the way, before you get the impulse to throw out old sweaters because of pilling, get this pilling remover! You can get more life out of your sweaters this way.

Shooting on a whim (in windy weather may I add) means that you forget you have certain things in hand, like this protein smoothie I was sipping on. But then I thought, this is the perfect excuse to share with you my favorite recipe. I do this concoction once a day for a protein fix and honestly, it tastes so good that I consider it a treat!

Chocolate Blueberry Protein Smoothie
1. Pour 1 cup liquid of choice in your blender. I prefer cashew milk (for the least amount of calories) but you can do this with regular milk, lactose-free milk, dairy-free options or even water.

2. Add two scoops of chocolate protein powder. This one from Orgain is my absolute favorite at the moment.

3. Add ½ cup of 0% Fat Greek yogurt. A word of caution: not all Greek yogurts are made equal. Check the label for sugar content.

4. Add ¼ cup of blueberries. Or fruit of choice.

5. Add a couple cubes of ice. And then blend away!

Any blender would do but if you are in the market for a new one, you can’t go wrong with the NutriBullet. I have had this one for years and use it at least once a day! And I think it would make for a practical and functional Christmas gift for just about anyone.
