A Day in St. Petersburg, Florida

On our recent East Coast road trip, we had a day to spend in St. Petersburg, Florida. This charming and immaculate city did not disappoint. Get ready for a lot of captures below! Most of our day was spent at and around the new St. Pete Pier. I say new because the old pier was re-designed and opened to the public on May 30th 2020. And whatever idea you have of a “pier”, it will be nothing compared to the new St. Pete Pier. This re-design covers 26-acres of gorgeousness with breathtaking water views all around – along with a high-point pavilion, splash pad, playground, restaurants, fishing deck, exhibits, picnic areas, Spa Beach, and more! There is also a free tram that drives you from one end of the pier to the other, with stops along the way.

Tip –> Be sure you stay on top of your parking expiration. But if you find yourself with a parking violation, like we did, you can appeal it by proving you spent $25 or more at the pier businesses. Be sure to save your receipts!

Across from the pier is Downtown St. Petersburg. You can spend an entire day exploring around its shops, unique restaurants, galleries, and museums! I highly recommend you hanging out until evening time to catch amazing nightlife views both from the pier and at downtown.
